Behind a historically restored façade at 91 Grand St. in SoHo, NY is the new flagship store for the hip, playful and sustainable bag company BAGGU. The scope covers a full store design along with developing a new physical branding identity through custom displays, spatial language, signage and material palette for Baggu beyond the New York flagship.
The space favors natural sustainable materials and draws references from the studio spaces of Constantin Brâncuși and Isamu Noguchi. New concrete floors and white painted brick walls are inhabited by various cork displays, fuzzy seating, wavy hanging rails and wooden block pedestals, underneath skylights and simple black track lights, forming a re-arrangeable gallery of sorts where the layout can update along with seasons. BAGGU’s expanding collections of bags and accessories for everyday living are playfully displayed about the store alongside plants, art and paper lamps, for an inviting space that’s part loft interior and part soho gallery.
