A half ton block of limestone floats above the ground with a massive presence, yet is surprisingly maneuverable resting on the essential and whimsical wheels below. The smooth block surfaces end off with natural break faces, revealing the raw materiality of the stone to bring a rough yet elegant chunk of nature indoors.
The 1ft. x 2ft. x 4ft. slab is bored-out on the underside to reduce the mass, and to access the counter-sunk castor’s wheel locks from inside the cavity. These industrial castors can support two tons, making the ~900lb table very sturdy and easy to wheel about. Simply roll into place and lock.
