On Valencia street in the Mission district of San Francisco is the new Baggu SF store. The long commercial space is defined by a large structural retro-fit of caisson trusses that frame the tall ceilings, along with skylights in the rear. The store makes sense of this jogging structural grid through track light runs, movable pedestals, custom white metal fixtures, wood tables and hanging peg-walls weaving through the space, displaying Baggu.
The space favors natural sustainable materials and draws references from the studio spaces of Constantin Brâncuși and Isamu Noguchi. New concrete floors and white painted brick walls are inhabited by various cork displays, fuzzy seating, wavy hanging rails and wooden block pedestals, underneath skylights and simple black track lights, forming a re-arrangeable gallery of sorts where the layout can update along with seasons. BAGGU’s expanding collections of bags and accessories for everyday living are playfully displayed about the store alongside plants, art and paper lamps, for an inviting space that’s part loft interior and part soho gallery.
